The use of the Projecting Adult Needs and Service Information System (PANSI) and the Projecting Older People Population Information System (POPPI) is subject to the following terms and conditions.

Use

PANSI and POPPI are intended for use by local authorities, primary care trusts and other bodies who need to be informed about trends in the population of adults aged 18-64 and older people in England. They use Office of National Statistics [ONS] population projections and prevalence rates from existing published sources. The data they contain and the copying and printing services they offer are designed to help understanding of future demand for social care.

When using either the PANSI or POPPI material in any published work, reference must always be made to the relevant system and to ONS as the source of the data. The licence to use either system does not extend to any third party use. Therefore, you may not, for the use by a third party, distribute, modify, copy, transmit, display, reuse, reproduce, publish, license, create derivative works from, transfer, sell or otherwise use content without the Department of Health’s prior written permission.

The Data Protection Act

Information collected by the Institute of Public Care (IPC) and the Department of Health will only be used for internal review, to improve the content of www.pansi.org.uk and www.poppi.org.uk, to customise the content and/or layout of www.pansi.org.uk and www.poppi.org.uk, to notify users about updates to www.pansi.org.uk and www.poppi.org.uk and to contact users for marketing purposes. It will not be shared with other organisations for commercial purposes. IPC and the Department of Health will only use such information for the purpose as described and will not pass on details to any other government department or third party unless you have given us permission to do so. You have a right to access your personal data and to rectify any inaccuracies.

Intellectual Property

The names, images and logos identifying PANSI and POPPI are proprietary marks of the Department of Health. If you wish to use any of these logos, you must obtain prior approval from the copyright manager by contacting the Department of Health branding team, nhs.identity@dh.gsi.gov.uk.

These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising under these terms and conditions shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
